For those unfamiliar with Memphis, there is a neighborhood called Midtown. What a gem! It was a happening neighborhood back in the 1970s but in the 1980s as many businesses closed and owners left the area of the popular Overton Square, the neighborhood lost a bit of it's dazzle!
Fast forward to 2012 when developers purchased Overton Square to save it from demolition. The buildings were renovated, a new parking garage was added and tenants began to move in. Midtown today is a Memphis hot spot and many young professionals desire to live there.
Enter Propono .... we bought a small 3 bedroom 1 bath home near Overton Square back in late February. The house needed a lot of work! I mean, a serious amounts of work. You had to have vision to see the beauty in it and probably a double dose of it! You could not walk into the home without tripping into something and the kitchen and bathroom was a big nightmare. Serious nightmare!

But we decided to purchase the house, partner with an interior designer and tackle the project. We had a HUGE vision and knew we have a solid team in place to make it happen.

The first major decision was to relocate the kitchen. It was way in the back with no good access to the dining room. The next step was to add a master bathroom. Those were solid decisions! The kitchen was relocated and we added a bigger window to bring in some more natural light. We took a portion from the porch and added a master bathroom. This was one of the best decisions of the project. We decided to glam up the place and ended up adding Ted Baker tiles on the fireplace and laundry room. Yes, you heard me, Ted Baker tiles! Some of you probably didn't know they also made tiles. Well, now you know! Who doesn't want to do laundry in that room, right?
No detail was too small for this project. Our interior designer is simply amazing! She spent countless hours selecting the design elements and even more time on designing that stunning kitchen ...... and her hard work paid off in a BIG way!
We could not be prouder of how this project has turned out. We are working on the next one and it will be ready in two weeks ..... and it will be ahhhhhmazingggggg!!!!
